Bulletproff coffee? It’s the newest old trend in coffee right now. It’s a super duper concoction of MCT oil (medium chain triglyceride) oil and butter in black coffee. The point is? The MCT oil is suppose to give you super powers, not actually super powers but super strenght. Professional athletes swear by it as well as super musicians. MCT oil is usually coconut or palm kernal oil, which by the way is saturated fat, so go easy, probably not a “Man v.s Food type of drink” to load up on.
The oil is suppose to absord quickly into your system and help you to not have the swings of the caffeine high and low. Dave Asprey the creator of the name Bulletproof coffee is an entrepeneur from California who was brought back from the brink of death, or near enough, with a concoction similar to this in Tibet.
Another company called coffeeblocks is also adding egg whites to the brew for extra protein. Now as an insider to the restaurant trade and coffee house business, we have seen a spike in interest for higher protein foods, and drinks. Egg whites in the coffee may be a hard sell.
At cafe latte coffee house and eatery we do make a Hot Buttered Coffee that is very popular with the locals. It’s an espresso base with a dollop of organic unsalted butter and a little extra good stuff, cinnamon and spice and everything nice.
We will be on the road promoting the Canary Island Garlic and Herb Olive Oil until September and then will reopen our cafe at that time.
